More from the Sony meet up and some behind the scenes

DSC00987 The next image below was taken by Sony RX-100M2. At 3200 ISO, this point and shoot camera can still produce decent image. I just adjusted the contrast and clarity because it was shot in raw. DSC09994 DSC00982

Kelli Miller

I went to an event provided by Sony on a workshop on studio photography using the latest in Sony mirrorless and Alpha cameras presented by Ian McCausland. I must say I drooled on Carl Zeiss Planar T* 50mm f/1.4 Lens, Sony RX1 & Carl Zeiss 135mm f/1.8 Lens. Thanks to the organizers of the event. Kelli Miller

Catching My Breath

The title was from a Kelly Clarkson`s song and it reflects how I feel everytime I do street photography. Your subject`s instinct is that you will do something bad like you are stalking them, you will use the photo that will violate their privacy and the list could never end. Although I can never blame them but on the other hand, I think this is the thrill of street photography. You must get over with your fear or doubt because once you missed the moment, it`s gone forever. Some folks are asking me what is my gear for street photography. My camera is Sony and for this image, the 50mm f/1.4 was the lens that I`ve used (and still my faved for portraits!). If you know the lens, you can imagine how close I am to the subject. I prefer using prime lens but I like the versatility that a non-prime lens can provide (i.e., 17-50mm, 24-70mm, etc.). I`m still using LR3 for editing, cropping and converting to B&W. Thanks.
